GUIDES / GLB INSPECTION

What is inside a TO3D GLB

The four fixed samples below are the same assets used in the public Examples page. Their structure is useful evidence for what a file contains; it is not an engine compatibility or animation quality guarantee.

Four files, one stable set

Use the download links above when you need a deterministic fixture for a viewer or an import test. The filenames and paths are stable across locales.

  • gen-knight-idle.glb has 37 joints.
  • gen-scout-idle.glb has 34 joints.
  • herobot-char.glb and gen-ranger-idle.glb each have 22 joints.

Inspect the fields

A glTF inspector can show the same primitives without opening a game engine. Look for a skin that references joints, a primitive with JOINTS_0 and WEIGHTS_0 attributes, UV coordinates, and an image embedded in the GLB container.

  • The joint count is the number of nodes referenced by the skin.
  • Weights describe how much each joint influences a vertex; the file can still need pose and deformation review.
  • An embedded PNG means the sample carries its texture instead of relying on a separate image URL.

What the check tells you

These fields establish that the samples contain a skinned mesh and usable texture coordinates. They help you choose a fixture for a pipeline test and explain why the Examples viewer can show a skeleton.

  • A GLB is a container; its presence does not promise a particular renderer or import setting.
  • Animation clips are sample data and are not a claim that every target tool will retarget them.
  • Use the embedded preview and your target tool to inspect scale, pose, materials, and playback.
# Record the file, viewer, importer, and result when comparing a target tool
printf '%s\n' 'fixture=gen-knight-idle.glb'

Verification boundaries

A structural readback is intentionally narrower than a production integration test. It cannot establish facial blendshapes, lip sync, VRM support, visual quality, or Unity and Unreal retargeting.

  • The four samples have no evidence here for morph targets.
  • Check the model in the tool, engine, or viewer where you plan to use it.
  • Use the API guide when you need a fresh generation rather than a fixed fixture.
# Structural evidence is not an engine acceptance test
printf '%s\n' 'inspect -> import -> pose -> playback'
